Dwarfed by absolutely massive works of nature, the redwood trees within California’s Muir Woods (located along the coast north of San Francisco) makes the average visitor feel like what a squirrel must feel like traversing through an oak forest. The nature giants tower at around 260 feet (about 40 feet shorter than the Statue of Liberty) and most are 1,000 years old.
Some of the trees have hollow openings and visitors are allowed to walk inside (see the third picture). To get an idea of just how large these are, I am 6ft tall and look minuscule standing beside them.
